Key Responsibilities

• Carry out restricted duties in line with your level of Registered Building Inspector (RBI) registration and professional competence.
• Assess building regulation applications and undertake Class 2F plan checking activities.
• Carry out site inspections across a range of domestic and non-domestic developments up to 18 metres in height.
• Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Building Act, Building Regulations, London Building Acts and associated legislation.
• Manage a portfolio of building control projects from application through to completion.
• Undertake technical assessments and make regulatory decisions relating to building compliance.
• Investigate breaches of legislation and support enforcement action where required.
• Assess dangerous structures and coordinate appropriate emergency actions.
  Provide technical guidance to customers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  Support and supervise Registered Building Inspectors at lower registration classes where appropriate.

Purpose of role:

Provide strategic and operational technical leadership on fire safety, fire engineering and building safety compliance across the Council’s housing portfolio, including Higher-Risk Buildings (HRBs). Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and assurance on fire safety compliance, design standards and building safety risks
