About the Head of English role:

• Lead and manage the English department, driving progress and attainment across the board

• Develop and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the curriculum

• Set high standards in behaviour and academic performance

• Use proven leadership skills to inspire a team of dedicated English teachers

• Engage with parents effectively through excellent communication skills

• Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and inclusion within the classroom

• Be proactive in supporting SEND students and adapting lessons to diverse needs

The ideal Head of English will have:

• A 1:1 English Degree from a top 20 UK university

• QTS and proven experience in leading English teaching

• Confidence and clarity in handling behaviour expectations

• Strong SEND awareness and a proactive, creative approach to teaching

• Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
