Key responsibilities of an Aspiring Maths Teacher:

• Deliver small group Maths interventions to support student progress

• Assist class teachers in implementing the curriculum effectively

• Support students with additional needs, including SEND and SEMH

• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff

• Model and reinforce positive behaviour and learning attitudes

• Engage proactively in all aspects of school life and academic planning

• Track and report student progress with clarity and detail

• Show adaptability and initiative in a dynamic school setting

The ideal Aspiring Maths Teacher will have:

• A 1:1 Maths degree from a Top 20 UK University

• Confidence managing behaviour and maintaining engagement

• Experience working with or tutoring secondary-age students

• A proactive and creative approach to teaching support

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• A genuine passion for Maths and a desire to enter teacher training

• The ability to thrive in a large, fast-paced Barking & Dagenham school
