Trainee Music Teacher | Secondary School | Southwark | Immediate Start

Ribbons & Reeves are working with a high-performing secondary school in Southwark to recruit a Trainee Music Teacher to join their Music department on an immediate start basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Music graduate who is considering a career in teaching and would like to gain hands-on classroom experience, supporting pupils across the secondary age range while developing their subject knowledge and confidence in a school setting.

The Role – Trainee Music Teacher:

• Support the delivery of Music lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils in Music

• Lead subject-specific interventions to support progress and engagement

• Support practical and theory-based Music learning, both in and out of the classroom

• Assist with behaviour management to maintain a focused and positive learning environment

• Work closely with Music staff, pastoral teams and families where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate:

• A 2:1 or above in a Music-related degree from a leading UK university

• A strong interest in Music education and classroom-based experience

• Confidence supporting pupils with SEND and managing behaviour

• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach

• A proactive, creative attitude with a clear ambition to train as a Music teacher
