Head of English – Haringey – September 2026
A high-performing, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Haringey is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of English to lead a thriving department from September 2026. This is a Permanent Head of English role within a well-established Secondary Teaching Opportunity.
The school is recognised for its calm, purposeful learning environment and strong academic outcomes at GCSE and A-Level. A knowledge-rich curriculum, explicit instruction model and consistent behaviour systems underpin classroom practice. The school is looking for:
- UK QTS (or completion of a UK-recognised teacher training programme)
- A strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or above from a reputable university (Russell Group desirable)
- Substantial secondary classroom experience within a UK school
- Evidence of structured curriculum delivery and measurable pupil progress
- Confidence operating within established behaviour frameworks
- Legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
Salary: Inner London MPS £40,317–£52,300 (UPS up to £62,496) + TLR (commensurate with experience).
