SEN Teaching Assistant – Richmond upon Thames

A welcoming and inclusive school in Richmond upon Thames is seeking a dedicated Sen TA to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Sen TA who is committed to helping children with additional needs thrive in a positive learning environment.

As a Sen TA, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and moderate learning needs. The successful Sen TA will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure each pupil receives the support they need to access the curriculum and develop both academically and socially.

The school is looking for a caring, patient, and proactive Sen TA who understands the importance of building strong relationships with pupils. The ideal Sen TA will be confident supporting students both one-to-one and in small group settings, helping them remain engaged, focused, and motivated throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing tailored classroom support for pupils with additional needs

• Working one-to-one with students to support learning and emotional wellbeing

• Assisting the teacher in adapting lesson materials and activities

• Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence

• Supporting pupils during lessons, break times, and school activities

• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

This position would suit someone who has previous experience working in schools, care, youth work, or similar support roles. However, the school also welcomes enthusiastic applicants who are looking to begin a rewarding career in education as a Sen TA.
