A welcoming and inclusive mixed secondary school in Redbridge is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate in the final year of their degree who is considering a career in teaching and would like to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training.
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will support students across KS3 and KS4, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve success in their studies. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting students with SEND through one-to-one interventions, small group work and in-class support. The school is looking for a patient, adaptable and compassionate graduate who is committed to inclusive education and making a positive impact on young people’s lives.
We are especially interested in graduates with degrees in:
- Maths
- Psychology
- English
- History
- Geography
- Science
The successful Secondary Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SEND department to provide targeted academic and pastoral support for students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH needs.
This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their classroom practice, behaviour management and understanding of SEND provision within a supportive secondary school environment. You will gain excellent hands-on experience and mentoring, making this the perfect stepping stone into teaching, educational psychology or wider SEND-focused careers.
