ASD Support Assistant | Hackney | September 2026 Start
A successful secondary school in Hackney is seeking an ASD Support Assistant from September 2026. This full-time role will run until July 2027 and is particularly well suited to Psychology graduates looking to gain meaningful, school-based experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a structured secondary environment.
£444–£513 per week via PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay) | Term-time only
The school has a strong reputation for SEND provision and inclusive practice across KS3 and KS4. Students with Autism are supported through structured routines, personalised learning strategies and consistent collaboration between teaching staff, pastoral teams and external specialists. Leaders place a strong emphasis on removing barriers to learning, ensuring pupils with additional needs are fully supported both academically and socially.
This role goes beyond general classroom support, with a strong focus on building trusted relationships with students and providing consistent, individualised support throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive engagement with learning.

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for students with Autism
• Supporting emotional regulation and social communication development
• Helping pupils engage effectively during lessons and transitions
• Working closely with SEND staff and classroom teachers
• Monitoring student progress, wellbeing and participation
