Physics Academic Mentor - What the Role Involves

- Helping pupils develop their conceptual understanding, mathematical application, and confidence in practical Physics
- Tracking individual pupil progress and feeding back regularly to the class teacher and Head of Science
- Building confident, academically focused relationships with pupils and sixth form students to develop their Physics ambition and self-belief
Physics Academic Mentor - What the School is Looking For
The ideal Physics Academic Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university in Physics or a closely related STEM discipline. Previous child-centred experience in a UK educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic Physics Academic Mentor with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for Physics education at every level.

Physics Academic Mentor - Salary and Contract Info
- £450 to £530 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Full-time, long-term contract from September 2026 to July 2027
- Term-time only
- Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
