SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning?

A specialist secondary SEN/SEMH school in Surrey is looking to appoint a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join its experienced and supportive team this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD and associated learning difficulties, helping them to engage with education, build confidence and achieve their individual goals.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
✅ Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
✅ Work closely with teachers to deliver personalised learning
✅ Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
✅ Encourage independence, resilience and self-confidence
✅ Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families where appropriate

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, resilient and proactive
  • Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
  • Experienced in SEN, SEMH, youth work, care or education (desirable but not essential)
  • Committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable students

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone looking to build a long-term career within specialist education.
