Are you a qualified KS1 Teacher looking to join a welcoming Pre-Prep school in Southwark? This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and committed KS1 Teacher to work with young pupils during an important stage of their academic and personal development.

The school is looking for a KS1 Teacher who can create an engaging classroom environment while maintaining high expectations for learning, behaviour and pupil development. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils, work closely with colleagues and contribute to a supportive Pre-Prep environment.

Full Academic Year | M1–M6 Inner London Pay Scale

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
  • Supporting pupils' development in reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Creating a positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident and supported.
  • Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
  • Developing strong relationships with pupils and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.
  • Supporting pupils who require additional academic or pastoral support.
  • Contributing to wider school activities and the life of the Pre-Prep setting.

The successful KS1 Teacher will:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching within KS1.
  • Have a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early reading.
  • Have high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and achievement.
  • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Have a creative and engaging approach to teaching young children.
  • SEN experience is desirable but not essential.
