Graduate EYFS Teaching Assistant – Graduate Opportunity

Location: Tower Hamlets

Are you a graduate with previous Early Years experience, looking to gain valuable classroom experience within an outstanding primary school?

An Outstanding primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a Graduate EYFS Teaching Assistant to support children across Nursery and Reception. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience whilst supporting pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.

You will work closely with the class teacher to support engaging, play-based learning in line with the EYFS framework. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with classroom routines and help create a positive learning environment.

Graduate EYFS Teaching Assistant – Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting Nursery and Reception pupils with early learning and play-based activities
• Delivering 1:1 and small group support across phonics, literacy and early numeracy
• Supporting children’s communication, language and social development
• Assisting with classroom routines, behaviour management and resources
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to access learning
• Working alongside the class teacher to support pupil progress

Graduate EYFS Teaching Assistant – We’re Looking For:

• A recent graduate with a 2:1 or First-Class degree – any subject considered
• Previous experience working with EYFS-aged children is essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in Early Years education
• A proactive, patient and enthusiastic approach
• Paediatric First Aid training is desirable, but not essential
• Read Write Inc. training or experience is desirable, but not essential

This role would suit a graduate considering a career as a Primary Teacher, Early Years Teacher or Early Years Specialist, looking to build classroom experience before pursuing teacher training.
