Job Description

I’m looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist in West London!

An Occupational Therapist plays an essential role in helping young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) access learning, develop independence and participate confidently in college life. Through individual assessments and practical strategies, you will help students overcome barriers and make the most of their education.

I am working with a college in West London to recruit a qualified Occupational Therapist to support students aged 16–25 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Working across all three campuses, you will assess individual needs and collaborate with college staff to implement recommendations that support students throughout their college experience.

Occupational Therapist Criteria:

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration.

  • Experience supporting young people aged 16–25 with EHCPs and SEND.

  • Experience and knowledge of Sensory Integration approaches.

  • Ability to assess individual needs and recommend practical strategies for use within the college environment.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

  • Willingness to travel between all three campuses.

Band 7-level experience or equivalent specialist expertise is desirable. Previous experience within further education or specialist education, alongside additional Sensory Integration training or qualifications, would also be advantageous.

Why choose this Occupational Therapist role?

  • Salary: [to be confirmed].

  • Support young people with SEND to develop independence and access their education.

  • Use your specialist knowledge to recommend practical approaches tailored to individual students.

  • Work closely with college staff to embed strategies into everyday learning.

  • Make a meaningful impact across three campuses, helping students prepare for their next steps.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist who wants to make a difference within further education. Your expertise will help young people build confidence, participate more fully in college life and develop skills for the future.
