We are seeking a committed PMLD Support Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Basildon. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a pupil with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access learning, develop communication skills and feel safe, valued and included within the school environment.
This role would suit someone with previous experience supporting children with complex needs who is passionate about inclusive education and providing personalised care and learning support.

The ideal PMLD Support Assistant will have:
- Previous experience supporting children or individuals with complex needs
- A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach
- An understanding of profound and multiple learning difficulties, physical disabilities or communication needs
- Confidence supporting personal care and mobility needs where required
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and individualised support
As a PMLD Support Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access classroom activities and participate in school life. You may assist with sensory activities, communication strategies, physical positioning and personal care, depending on the child's individual needs and care plan.
