Cover Supervisor | Waltham Forest | Immediate Start

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for a new opportunity in Waltham Forest? Do you have the confidence and classroom experience to lead lessons and maintain a positive learning environment?

This Cover Supervisor position is ideal for an aspiring teacher, experienced Teaching Assistant or graduate with previous school-based experience who is ready to take on greater classroom responsibility in a secondary school.

Cover Supervisor | Key Details

• £120–£150 per day PAYE

• Immediate start

• Full-time, term-time only

• Long-term contract until the end of the academic year

• Based in Waltham Forest

• Valuable experience for aspiring teachers and education professionals

Cover Supervisor | The Role

• Supervise lessons across KS3 and KS4 during teacher absences

• Deliver pre-set lesson materials and ensure pupils complete assigned work

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom discipline

• Encourage pupil engagement and keep lessons running smoothly

• Support pupils with their learning, routines and classroom expectations

• Liaise with teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders

Cover Supervisor | Candidate Requirements

• Previous classroom or school-based experience is strongly preferred

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, HLTA, Youth Worker or Mentor

• Confident managing groups of secondary-aged pupils

• Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

• Calm, approachable and consistent when dealing with challenging behaviour

• Excellent communication and organisational abilities

• Reliable, proactive and committed to a full-time position
