Psychology Graduate – Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support)
Location: Specialist Secondary School, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £20,000–£25,000 per year (pro rata)
Start Date: September 2025
Are you a 2025 Psychology graduate looking to make a meaningful impact before pursuing further training or study in mental health, education, or therapy?
This specialist secondary school, supporting boys aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, is offering a full-time Teaching Assistant opportunity for a graduate passionate about working directly with young people who require targeted support.
You’ll join a dedicated and supportive team in a role that’s both rewarding and challenging. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with pupils—both 1:1 and in small groups—to help them engage in learning, manage emotions, and build confidence. You’ll also contribute to wider school life and benefit from experienced staff who understand the needs of pupils with SEMH.
What we’re looking for:
- A Psychology degree (or expected degree) by summer 2025
- A genuine interest in child development, behaviour, and mental health
- Resilience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills
- A commitment to supporting young people with complex needs
Why apply?
- Gain hands-on experience in a specialist setting
- Build the foundation for a career in Educational Psychology, Mental Health, or Teaching
- Be part of a school community focused on transformation and trust
Apply now to begin your career with purpose. Interviews will begin immediately for a September start.
