A high-performing secondary school in West London is seeking a passionate and motivated Spanish and French graduate to join their team as an Academic Support Assistant. This is a brilliant opportunity to support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within the MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) Department, building valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive school setting.
Working alongside subject teachers, the Head of Languages, and pastoral leaders, you will deliver tailored academic interventions—including 1:1 and small group support—to boost students’ language skills, build confidence in speaking and writing, and help raise attainment across Spanish and French.
This role is ideal for a Modern Languages graduate planning to begin a PGCE or other teacher training pathway in 2025.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide academic support to students in Spanish and/or French across KS3 and KS4

Deliver focused 1:1 and small group tuition to strengthen language proficiency and exam preparation

Work collaboratively with teaching staff to identify and address learning needs

Assist with the preparation of lesson materials and track student progress

Foster a positive, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment
Candidate Profile:

A recent graduate in Spanish and/or French from a top university

Genuinely passionate about languages and pursuing a career in education

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in explaining language concepts clearly

Reliable, adaptable, and a proactive team player

Experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is highly desirable
