Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)

Are you a graduate with a strong academic background looking to support young learners as an Academic Mentor this September?
A high-achieving primary school in Wandsworth is searching for a committed and driven Academic Mentor to support pupils across Key Stage 2. This Academic Mentor role is ideal for graduates with a passion for education who are considering a career in teaching or educational psychology.
As an Academic Mentor, you’ll deliver tailored interventions in English and Maths, support classroom learning, and work closely with teachers to help children overcome academic barriers. The school is seeking an Academic Mentor who is confident, organised, and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions in literacy and numeracy
- Assisting with lesson planning and differentiated learning
- Supporting pupils with mild SEN or EAL needs
- Promoting motivation, resilience and academic confidence
- Monitoring and tracking pupil progress
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or above in English, Maths, Psychology or a related subject
- A clear and confident communicator
- Strong subject knowledge and attention to detail
- A full-time commitment for the academic year
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
