Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Experienced Science Technician looking for your next opportunity in a vibrant and forward-thinking Sixth Form? We are seeking a reliable and highly organised individual to join our science department in Stratford from September 2025.

 

Experienced Science Technician | About the Role

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science lessons. Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure that practical lessons run smoothly and safely, maintaining equipment, preparing resources, and promoting a safe learning environment.

 

Experienced Science Technician | Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, and maintain science equipment and materials for practical experiments.
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons when required.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of science equipment and supplies.
  • Support the organisation and maintenance of science labs and prep rooms.
  • Keep up to date with health and safety requirements and relevant policies, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidance.

 

Experienced Science Technician | The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or lab setting (essential).
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and scientific equipment.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and professional approach to supporting staff and students.
  • Science-related qualifications at GCSE/A-Level or above (desirable).
