Location: Richmond upon Thames, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)

A popular secondary school in Richmond is looking for a motivated Academic Support Tutor to support pupils with English and humanities subjects. This Academic Support Tutor role is ideal for graduates wanting to gain experience before applying to teacher training or a PGCE course.
As an Academic Support Tutor, you will help pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 improve their literacy and comprehension skills. You will deliver small group and 1:1 support sessions, assist teachers with resource preparation, and contribute to pupil progress tracking.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils in English and humanities lessons
- Running small group and 1:1 academic interventions
- Preparing lesson resources and supporting classroom activities
- Assisting teachers with pupil progress monitoring
- Encouraging a love of learning and academic confidence
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or above in English, History, or a related degree
- Excellent communication and strong academic skills
- A genuine interest in education and working with young people
- Commitment to the full academic year
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or settled status.
