Science Technician – What the Role Involves
- Preparing and maintaining science laboratories, including equipment and resources
- Supporting teachers during practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed within labs and prep rooms
- Managing stock and ordering materials for the department
- Assisting with demonstrations, experiments, and the smooth running of lessons

Science Technician – What the School is Looking For
The ideal Science Technician will hold a 2:1 or First Class degree from a top 30 UK University, ideally in a science-related subject. Previous child-centred or educational experience is highly valued. Schools seek proactive, organised, and committed individuals with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
Science Technician – Salary and Contract Info
- Up to £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
- Contract: Full-time, long-term (September–July), term-time only
- Opportunities for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
