Sixth Form Maths & Science Tutor | Hammersmith & Fulham

Are you passionate about Maths and Science and committed to supporting students through their A-Level studies? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to help young people achieve their best, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are working with a thriving Sixth Form College in Hammersmith & Fulham to appoint a dedicated Maths and Science Tutor. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide tailored academic support across A-Level subjects, while also ensuring students with additional learning needs receive the guidance and encouragement they require to succeed.

This position is particularly well-suited to candidates with a Biology background, though applicants from all Maths and Science disciplines are welcome to apply.

Maths & Science Tutor | Role Profile

  • Part-time position: 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday)

  • Supporting Sixth Form students across A-Level Maths and Science subjects

  • Providing targeted support for students with SEND, ensuring inclusive access to the curriculum

  • Based in a supportive and dynamic Sixth Form College environment

Maths & Science Tutor | Role Specification

  • Degree-level qualification in a Maths or Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics)

  • Strong academic record with the ability to support A-Level students effectively

  • Awareness of and/or experience supporting students with SEND (preferred but training will be provided)

  • Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working with young people (preferred but not essential)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to inspire, engage, and adapt support for individual learners

  • Commitment to helping students reach their academic and personal goals

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, tutors, or graduates looking to gain school-based experience. It offers the chance to make a genuine difference in a Sixth Form setting, supporting both high-achieving students and those who require additional support through SEND provision.
