Autism Support Assistant | Greenwich | September Start
Are you a high-achieving Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment? We are recruiting for an Autism Support Assistant to join a well-regarded school in Greenwich, supporting students with additional needs and targeted interventions.
Autism Support Assistant | The Role:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with autism during lessons and school activities.
- Assist students with communication, emotional regulation, and social skills development.
- Help adapt classroom resources and tasks to suit individual learning styles.
- Use visual supports, sensory strategies, and structured routines to promote engagement.
- Work in partnership with the SEND department to track and support student progress
This role is particularly suited to aspiring educational or clinical psychologists, teachers, or anyone interested in mental health, SEN support, or youth work. You will receive guidance from an experienced SENDCo and collaborate with a committed team of graduate assistants—many of whom move on to further study or training programmes.
Autism Support Assistant | What we are looking for:
- A First-Class or 2:1 degree in Psychology from a Top 20 UK University
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for working with neurodiverse young people
- Availability to commit to the full academic year from September 2025

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with students focusing on those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), as well as associated needs such as ADHD and anxiety.
