RE Trainee Teacher | Lewisham | September Start
Are you a Religious Education graduate ready to begin your teacher training in September?
A well-regarded secondary school in Lewisham is offering a salaried RE Trainee Teacher position from September. This role is ideal for a graduate with strong subject knowledge who is committed to training as a secondary RE teacher while gaining practical classroom experience.
You will work alongside experienced teachers, gradually taking on responsibility for planning and delivering lessons as the year progresses. Full training and mentoring will be provided as part of a structured school-based training programme.
RE Trainee Teacher – Key Responsibilities:
- Train to teach RE across KS3–KS4 (KS5 exposure where available)
- Support lessons before progressing to independent teaching
- Plan and deliver lessons under the guidance of a mentor
- Assess pupil progress and provide feedback
- Engage fully with the school’s training and development programme
Person Specification:
- Degree in RE, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject
- Strong academic background and subject knowledge
- Clear commitment to becoming a qualified teacher
- Professional, organised and confident communicator
