Job Description

SEND Teacher – Specialist Provision | Hounslow – September Start

A brilliant primary school in Hounslow is seeking a committed and skilled SEND Teacher to join its dedicated specialist provision for September. This is a long-term or permanent opportunity for an educator who is driven to deliver meaningful outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

The provision supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) profiles. Class sizes are small, with a high staff-to-pupil ratio, allowing for a personalised and structured approach to learning.

The Role
You will take full responsibility for a class within the specialist provision, delivering a highly differentiated curriculum tailored to individual EHCP targets. The role requires strong behaviour management, a clear understanding of adaptive teaching strategies, and the ability to work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and external professionals.

The School
This is a forward-thinking, community-driven primary setting with a strong reputation for inclusion. Leadership is stable and visible, with a clear commitment to staff development and wellbeing. The school has invested significantly in its SEND provision, ensuring staff are well-resourced and supported through ongoing CPD, including training in evidence-based interventions and communication strategies.

Pupils are engaged, staff retention is high, and there is a genuine culture of teamwork across the school. The provision itself is well-structured, with clear routines and a therapeutic approach embedded into daily practice.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist or resource base
  • Strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • A reflective practitioner committed to continuous improvement

If you are looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact while being part of a well-led and values-driven school, this is worth serious consideration.
