Job Description

EYFS Teacher – Enfield – September 2026

A warm, ambitious primary school in Enfield is seeking a passionate and skilled EYFS Teacher to join their dedicated Early Years team from September 2026. This is a permanent EYFS Teacher role within a school rated Good by Ofsted, known for its child-centred ethos, structured early years provision, and genuine commitment to giving every child the strongest possible start.

About the School

This Enfield primary school delivers EYFS provision that is both nurturing and academically purposeful, balancing structured direct teaching with rich, purposeful play in a well-resourced environment. Early literacy and numeracy are prioritised through a phonics-led, evidence-based approach, and the school's diverse community brings wonderful cultural richness to every classroom. Behaviour is guided by consistent, age-appropriate frameworks that help young children develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning from their very first days in school. Enrichment including forest school sessions, creative arts, and family learning events reflects the school's holistic approach to early childhood development.

What the School Offers

  • Structured CPD with clear pathways into EYFS or primary leadership
  • A well-resourced Early Years environment with strong community and parental engagement
  • Collaborative planning across the EYFS team with manageable workload expectations
  • Dedicated SLT mentoring and a genuinely supportive staff culture
  • Clear progression routes for high-performing EYFS Teachers into phase leadership over time

The Role

As an EYFS Teacher, you will plan and deliver stimulating, well-structured learning experiences across the EYFS framework, using observation and assessment to track individual progress and inform your teaching. You will support transition into Year 1, contribute to curriculum planning, and build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues throughout the year.

What the School is Looking For

This permanent EYFS Teacher position will suit candidates who:

  • Hold British QTS or are completing a UK-accredited teacher training programme
  • Graduated with a 2:1 or above from a reputable UK university
  • Have classroom experience within a UK primary or EYFS setting through placements or a substantive post
  • Show clear evidence of structured early years delivery and measurable developmental progress
  • Are legally entitled to work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available

ECT applicants are warmly welcomed provided formal UK teacher training has been completed.

Salary & Contract

Outer London MPS: £37,870 to £50,474, with UPS up to £56,154. TLR opportunities may be available for candidates with EYFS leadership experience.
