The school has developed a strong reputation for SEND provision, with specialist intervention staff, structured pastoral systems and close partnerships with external professionals including speech and language therapists and educational psychologists. Pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs and communication difficulties are supported through carefully planned interventions, structured classroom routines and personalised learning strategies. Leaders place significant emphasis on inclusion, ensuring pupils receive consistent support both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.
The role includes:
• Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism and ADHD
• Supporting children with SEMH and speech and language needs
• Delivering small-group interventions focused on communication and emotional regulation
• Assisting pupils within class to improve engagement, confidence and independence
• Supporting teachers with behaviour management and differentiated learning activities
What the school can offer:
• Specialist SEND training and regular professional development opportunities
• Experience working alongside experienced SENCOs and intervention teams
• Strong behaviour systems and highly supportive classroom environments
• Opportunities to gain experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Excellent preparation for Educational Psychology, Teaching or Therapy careers
The successful candidate will hold a strong degree, ideally in Psychology or a related field, alongside previous child-centred experience. The school is seeking someone patient, proactive and confident building positive relationships with pupils requiring additional support.
