- Support staff training and promote strong SEND awareness across the school
- Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to support pupil progress
- SENCO will monitor outcomes and ensure interventions are effective
- SENCO applicants must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A recognised SENCO qualification (NASENCO) or working towards it is desirable
- Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND within a secondary setting is essential
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCPs and safeguarding procedures is required
- SENCO candidates should demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- A passion for inclusion and improving outcomes for young people is essential
