A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Harlow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a student who requires additional academic, social and emotional support. This role would be particularly well suited to a Psychology Graduate, Education Graduate or related graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working with young people in an educational setting.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Harlow secondary school, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional learning needs
- Assist the student with accessing the curriculum and completing classroom tasks
- Develop strategies that encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
- Support the student's social and emotional development throughout the school day
- Build a positive, trusting and consistent relationship with the student
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and wider pastoral team
- Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff where appropriate
