The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of their regular teacher

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain focused and engaged

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy

  • Support students with their learning and encourage positive participation

  • Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff

  • Provide feedback to teachers on student engagement and behaviour where appropriate

  • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold its values

This Cover Supervisor role requires someone who is confident, reliable, adaptable and able to maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment.


The Ideal Cover Supervisor

The school is looking for a Cover Supervisor who is:

  • Must hold a 1st-Class or 2:1 in their relevant degree 

  • Confident and composed when managing a classroom

  • Organised, reliable and able to work independently

  • An excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with young people

  • Experienced working with secondary-aged students (essential)

  • Consistent and confident in managing behaviour

  • Motivated, reflective and eager to develop professionally

  • A positive team player who contributes to school life
