A high-performing, well-established secondary school in Islington is seeking a driven Science ECT to join its thriving department from September 2026. • Join a supportive and structured ECT programme tailored for a Science ECT, including weekly mentoring and reduced timetable
• Work within a well-resourced Science department with modern labs and strong technician support
• Excellent CPD provision, enabling a Science ECT to progress rapidly through the early stages of teaching
• Inner London M1–M2 salary with clear progression opportunities for a successful Science ECT
• A diverse pupil cohort of over 1,200 students, with around 30% identified as SEN and approximately 8% with EHCPs
• Strong Progress 8 scores above national average, with Science outcomes consistently high at GCSE
• A culture of high expectations, behaviour consistency, and strong SLT presence across the school in Islington
• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4 as a Science ECT
• Build subject knowledge and pedagogy with the support of experienced practitioners
• Use assessment data effectively to support pupil progress
• Contribute to intervention strategies to support SEN and high-attaining pupils
• Work collaboratively within the department and wider school community in Islington
• UK QTS (or on track to achieve) for this Science ECT position
• Strong academic background in a Science-related degree
• Commitment to high standards and continuous professional development
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• A genuine passion for becoming an outstanding Science ECT
