Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Role Overview:

  • Support pupils with SEN in both 1:1 and small group settings

  • Lead structured interventions and scaffolded learning activities

  • Help maintain strong behaviour management strategies in line with school policies

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents

  • Assist with lesson delivery and adapt resources to support learning

  • Monitor pupil progress and report to class teachers and SENCO

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Person Specification:

  • 1:1 Degree from a top 20 UK University

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confident supporting SEND pupils with a proactive and positive attitude

  • Previous SEN experience (desirable but not essential)

  • Keen to progress into teacher training or educational psychology

  • Flexible, creative and adaptive in approach to learning

  • Comfortable working in a large school environment in Havering
