Behaviour Support Assistant – Barnet
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £105.00 per day (PAYE)

Are you a Psychology graduate or aspiring education professional looking to gain hands-on experience supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs? We are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant boys’ secondary school in Barnet, working with students aged 11–16 who require additional guidance and structure to succeed in their education.
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced staff to deliver targeted interventions, regulate classroom behaviour, and build trusted relationships with pupils who may struggle with self-esteem, emotional regulation, or persistent disruption. Your work will directly impact students’ progress, wellbeing, and ability to engage in learning.
Behaviour Support Assistant - In this role, you will:
- Support students displaying challenging behaviour in and out of class
- Deliver behaviour-focused interventions, including mentoring and check-ins
- Promote positive relationships, routines, and strategies for self-regulation
- Work closely with the Pastoral and SEND teams to track and support student progress
- Model calm, consistent behaviour expectations and provide a reliable adult presence
This position is ideal for aspiring educational psychologists, youth workers, teachers, or those with an interest in behaviour, trauma-informed practice, and inclusion. You’ll be part of a dedicated support team with excellent training opportunities and progression pathways.
Behaviour Support Assistant - We are looking for:
- A 2:1 or First-Class degree in Psychology or a related subject
- A calm, confident, and empathetic approach
- An interest in behaviour management and supporting vulnerable learners
- A commitment to working full-time throughout the 2025–2026 academic year
