Reading Intervention Tutor – Hounslow – September 2025 Start

Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025

Are you a graduate with a love of reading and literacy, looking to support pupils as a Reading Intervention Tutor this September?

A welcoming primary school in Hounslow is searching for a passionate and enthusiastic Reading Intervention Tutor to work with pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This Reading Intervention Tutor role is perfect for graduates interested in primary teaching, speech and language therapy, or literacy support.

As a Reading Intervention Tutor, you’ll work with children who need extra support with phonics, fluency and comprehension. The school is looking for a Reading Intervention Tutor who is confident in spoken and written English and who can make reading engaging and enjoyable.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with early reading and phonics
• Leading small group and 1:1 literacy sessions
• Helping to track and monitor progress
• Supporting children with EAL or mild SEND
• Working closely with teachers and the SENCo

We’re looking for:

• A 2:1 or above in English, Education or a related subject
• A love of reading and strong communication skills
• A warm and patient approach to learning
• Full commitment for the academic year

Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
