Location: Richmond upon Thames, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)

A popular secondary school in Richmond is looking to appoint an Academic Support Mentor to work closely with pupils who need extra academic support in English and the humanities. This Academic Support Mentor role is ideal for graduates looking to train as teachers in the future.
As an Academic Support Mentor, you will support pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them access the curriculum, improve their reading and writing, and grow in confidence. The school is looking for an Academic Support Mentor who is proactive, academically strong, and passionate about education.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting students in English and Humanities lessons
- Running small group and 1:1 academic interventions
- Adapting learning for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting teachers with planning and resources
- Promoting high standards and academic progress
We’re looking for:
- A 2:1 or above in English or a related degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- An interest in teaching or education
- Commitment to the full academic year
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
