Role: EYFS Support Assistant

Location: East London

Pay: £444 Per Week

Are you passionate about supporting young children in their early stages of development? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (EYFS Support Assistant) to join our Early Years team, providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing and inclusive environment, helping every child thrive and achieve their potential.

 

Key Responsibilities

EYFS Support Assistant | Support for Pupils

  • Use personal skills, training, and experience to support the holistic development of a pupil as an EYFS Support Assistant.
  • Help implement and review individual targets and learning plans.
  • Support the pupil’s access to learning, play, and social interactions using appropriate strategies and resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and self-reliance.

 

EYFS Support Assistant | Support for the Teacher

  • Assist in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Observe and monitor pupil responses to learning, contributing to assessments and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on pupil progress.
  • Promote positive attitudes and behaviour in line with the school’s values.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, under the direction of the teacher.

 

EYFS Support Assistant | Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience working with or caring for Early Years children.
  • Degree in a relevant subject (Early Years, Education Studies, Psychology)
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
  • Calm, compassionate, and responsive under pressure.

 

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Intention to pursue qualifications in teaching, early years, or nursery care.
