Maths Learning Support Assistant | Havering | September Start

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a driven and academic Maths Learning Support Assistant to join a successful Secondary School in Havering this September. The successful Maths Learning Support Assistant will support the school’s Maths department, particularly working with students who are underachieving at GCSE level. Main responsibilities of a Maths Learning Support Assistant:

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support in Maths lessons

• Assist in planning and delivering targeted interventions for struggling students

• Help students boost their confidence and attainment in Maths

• Collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to support academic progress

• Engage with parents and carers to discuss student progress where needed

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and focus within support sessions

Requirements for this Maths Learning Support Assistant role:

• A 1:1 or 2:1 Maths degree from a top 20 UK University (essential)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Confident working with challenging behaviour and maintaining focus

• Desire to pursue a career in education or Teacher Training

• Flexible, creative and proactive mindset

• Previous child-based experience or tutoring background preferred
