Location: Richmond, South West London
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Hours: 08:45–15:30, Monday to Friday (32.5 hours per week)
Pay: £21,684 per annum (Pro Rata) – Outer London
Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible

A nurturing and forward-thinking SEN school in Richmond is seeking a dedicated Classroom Support Worker to join their team. This Classroom Support Worker role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting children with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties in a creative and therapeutic learning environment.

 

As a Classroom Support Worker, you’ll be based in a class of around 6–8 pupils, providing one-to-one and small group support across the school day. You’ll be helping pupils regulate their emotions, participate in lessons, and develop essential life skills.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with pupils with autism and learning needs across KS1–KS4
  • Supporting emotional regulation and communication, including the use of visuals and sensory strategies
  • Assisting with personal care where required (full training provided)
  • Engaging in creative sessions including art, outdoor learning and music therapy
  • Liaising closely with teachers and therapists to deliver consistent, high-quality support

 

We’re looking for:

  • Experience with SEND, either in education, youth work or care settings
  • Calm, patient and emotionally attuned individuals
  • Commitment to full-time, term-time working
