STEM Teaching Assistant – What the Role Involves

  • Supporting teaching and learning within STEM subjects, primarily science, maths and technology
  • Assisting with small group interventions to boost pupil understanding and progress
  • Helping manage classroom behaviour and engagement during lessons
  • Collaborating with teachers to support lesson delivery and student assessments
  • Tracking pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Interviews to begin the week commencing 25th August 2025

 

STEM Teaching Assistant – What the School is Looking For
The ideal candidate will be proactive, compassionate and committed, with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for STEM education. A 2:1 or First Class degree from a top 30 UK university is preferred, alongside previous child-centred experience. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

 

Salary and Contract Info

  • General TA / SEN TA roles: £444 per week, pro rata (term‑time only)
  • Contract: Full‑time, long‑term (September–July), term‑time only
  • Potential for future teacher training or contract extensions following a successful placement
