Speech and Language Assistant – What the Role Involves

  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Assisting in delivering targeted interventions designed to improve communication skills
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and support staff to monitor pupil progress
  • Supporting classroom management and engagement during learning activities
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to pupil reports
  • Interviews to begin the week commencing 25th August 2025

 

Speech and Language Assistant – What the School is Looking For
We are seeking proactive, compassionate, and committed individuals with strong communication skills and a genuine desire to support children’s speech and language development. A 2:1 or First Class degree from a top 30 UK university is preferred, and previous experience working with children is highly valued. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

 

Salary and Contract Info

  • General TA / SEN TA roles: £444 per week, pro rata (term‑time only)
  • Contract: Full‑time, long‑term (September–July), term‑time only
  • Potential for future teacher training or contract extensions following a successful placement
