SEND Teaching Assistant – Hounslow – November 2025 Start

 

Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: November 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: minimum £444 per week (PAYE)

Are you a graduate passionate about supporting children with complex SEND needs and looking to gain hands-on experience in a challenging and rewarding environment this November?

 

A mainstream primary school in South West London is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a new SEND hub. These pupils have significant needs, including severe autism and developmental delay, and some require support with toileting and personal care. This role is ideal for graduates with a background in Psychology, Education, or related fields who are considering careers in SEN teaching, Educational Psychology, or Speech and Language Therapy.

 

About the School:

  • Mainstream primary for ages 3–11 with increasing numbers of complex SEND pupils
  • Early stages of developing a dedicated SEND hub
  • Focus on inclusion and integrating pupils into mainstream classes when appropriate
  • Supportive leadership team and collaborative working environment

 

The Role:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting support where required
  • Implement support plans in collaboration with the SEND Teacher and class staff
  • Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and social interaction
  • Hours: 08:30–15:30 with a 30-minute break

 

We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology, Education, or related subject
  • Empathetic, resilient, and willing to work with pupils with complex needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience supporting children beneficial (but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS check, or willing to fill out a DBS form
