Are you an aspiring Primary Teacher looking to gain valuable classroom experience before your PGCE or Teacher Training?

Do you want to make a real impact by supporting pupils with ADHD and Dyslexia?

Our partner Primary School in Croydon is seeking a motivated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2026, working across KS1 and KS2 to support children who need extra help with focus, literacy and classroom engagement.

🧩 Primary Teaching Assistant – The Role:

  • Start date: January 2026
  • Location: Croydon, South London
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
  • Pay: £500 per week (paid PAYE, weekly)
  • Full-time, term-time only (January 2026 – July 2026)

You’ll work closely with pupils who have ADHD and/or Dyslexia, providing 1:1 and small-group support, helping them to stay engaged, confident, and on track academically. This is a brilliant opportunity to understand how to adapt teaching strategies, manage behaviour positively, and support literacy development – all key skills for future teachers!

✅ Who we’re looking for:

  • graduate (2:1 or above) ideally in Education, Psychology, English, Science, Maths, Humanities or a closely related subject
  • A strong academic background at A-Level and GCSE
  • Some child-centred experience with the 4–11 age range (voluntary or paid)
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • A genuine interest in inclusive education and supporting additional needs
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with pupils with ADHD, Dyslexia or learning differences

🎯 Why this is perfect for Aspiring Primary Teachers:

  • Build classroom confidence before teacher training
  • Work closely with experienced teachers and SEND professionals
  • Learn how to support neurodivergent learners in a mainstream classroom
  • Gain insight into adaptive teaching, behaviour management, and targeted intervention
  • Join a school with a strong reputation for inclusion and professional development
