Havering Maths Academic Mentor – Maths Support Role

Location: Havering
Contract: January 2026 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)

Are you a Maths graduate looking to gain experience in education?

A well-regarded secondary school in Havering is seeking a Maths Academic Mentor to support students across the mathematics department.

As a Maths Academic Mentor, you’ll work with pupils in KS3 to KS4, providing classroom assistance, subject-specific intervention, and academic mentoring. You’ll also support learners with SEN, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement in Mathematics.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing in-class support in Mathematics lessons

  • Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students

  • Helping with lesson resources, planning, and marking

  • Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds

This role is ideal for aspiring Maths teachers or those interested in supporting students in Mathematics.

We’re looking for:

  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree in Mathematics or a related field

  • A genuine interest in education and social development

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills

  • Commitment from January to July 2026
