Head of Sixth Form | Southwark | September Start
Are you an experienced secondary leader ready to take on a whole-school pastoral leadership role from September?
A well-regarded secondary school in Southwark is seeking a Head of Sixth Form to lead and develop their post-16 provision. This role would suit an experienced middle or senior leader with a strong understanding of sixth form systems, student progression and academic standards.
You will oversee the academic and pastoral support of Year 12 and Year 13 students, ensuring high standards of attendance, behaviour and achievement, while also supporting university, apprenticeship and employment pathways.
Head of Sixth Form – Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the day-to-day running of the Sixth Form
• Monitor academic progress and implement intervention strategies
• Oversee pastoral support and student wellbeing
• Support university, apprenticeship and careers guidance
• Line manage sixth form tutors and pastoral staff
Person Specification:
• QTS and substantial secondary teaching experience
• Previous leadership experience (Head of Year or similar)
• Strong understanding of KS5 curriculum and post-16 pathways
• Proven track record of raising standards
• Organised and able to manage whole-cohort systems
