Job Description
Maths Academic Mentor – Haringey – September 2026
A well-regarded, high-achieving secondary school in Haringey is seeking a motivated and mathematically confident Maths Academic Mentor to join their dedicated Mathematics department from September 2026. The Role
As a Maths Academic Mentor, you will deliver focused one-to-one and small-group support sessions to pupils across KS3 and KS4 who are working below expected levels or preparing for GCSE examinations. Working closely with qualified Maths teachers, you will align your sessions with the departmental scheme of work, use formative assessment to identify and address gaps in understanding, and maintain clear records of pupil progress to feed back into the wider team. Building trusted, motivating relationships with pupils will be at the heart of your work as a Maths Academic Mentor in this school.

- Can demonstrate a clear ability to explain mathematical concepts confidently and accessibly to secondary-age pupils
- Have some experience working with young people in a UK educational, tutoring, or mentoring context
- Are comfortable operating within established whole-school behaviour and safeguarding frameworks
- Are committed to the full term-time contract from September 2026 through to July 2027
- Are legally entitled to work in the UK - the school is unable to provide visa sponsorship
