The Role
As a Teacher of Science, you will deliver well-structured, engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, using assessment data to track progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a complex and rewarding pupil cohort. You will contribute to departmental planning, support Science enrichment activities, and invest in the kind of consistent, patient relationships with pupils and families that underpin long-term academic progress. What the School is Looking For
This permanent Teacher of Science position will suit candidates who:
- Hold British QTS awarded through a UK-accredited teacher training programme
- Graduated with a 2:1 or above in a Science discipline from a reputable UK university, ideally Russell Group
- Can demonstrate meaningful classroom experience within a UK secondary school setting through placements or a substantive teaching post
- Are resilient, consistent, and relationship-focused - with the emotional intelligence to connect with pupils who do not always make it straightforward
- Are confident working within established behaviour frameworks and committed to maintaining high expectations regardless of the challenges
- Are legally entitled to work in the UK - visa sponsorship is not available
ECT applicants with genuine subject depth and a resilient, determined mindset are welcomed provided formal UK teacher training has been completed.
Salary & Contract
Outer London MPS: £37,870 to £50,474, with UPS up to £56,154. TLR opportunities available for candidates with relevant departmental or enrichment leadership experience.
