SEND LSA – Psychology Graduate | Croydon

Are you a switched-on Psychology Graduate looking for hands-on experience before pursuing a career in SEND or Teaching? A welcoming and ambitious Primary School in Purley, Croydon is seeking an exceptional graduate to join their Year 1 team from September, initially until July 2027.

This role requires someone with genuine resilience and excellent emotional intelligence.

You will be supporting children whose behaviour can sometimes be challenging, so you must be able to think quickly, remain calm and use your initiative when situations change unexpectedly.

What You Need to Have:

• A Psychology degree and a genuine interest in SEND or Teaching
• The confidence to hold your own while remaining patient, kind and respectful
• The ability not to take challenging behaviour personally
• Humility, emotional intelligence and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
• A proactive and self-sufficient approach – you won't wait to be told what to do

SEND LSA | The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils in Year 1 with additional needs
• Support children's learning, behaviour and emotional development throughout the school day
• Use initiative to respond positively and effectively to challenging situations
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team
• September start | Full-time | Initially until July 2027
