Job Description

Oxbridge Graduate | Southwark | September Start

Are you an Oxbridge graduate looking to gain meaningful experience in education before progressing into teaching, tutoring or a career working with young people? This Oxbridge Graduate opportunity in Southwark offers the chance to work within a successful secondary school and sixth form, supporting pupils across KS3, KS4 and A-Level.

This is not a general graduate role. The school is looking for an academically strong Oxbridge Graduate who can bring genuine subject knowledge, intellectual curiosity and high expectations into the classroom. You will work alongside experienced teachers, supporting pupils with challenging academic content and helping sixth-form students prepare for university and future careers.

For graduates considering teaching, the Oxbridge Graduate role provides an opportunity to experience the realities of secondary education before committing to teacher training.

Full Academic Year Contract | £500–£550 per week

What the school can offer an Oxbridge Graduate:

  • Experience supporting pupils through GCSE and A-Level study
  • Work alongside experienced subject specialists
  • Opportunities to support university preparation and academic enrichment
  • Small-group intervention and examination preparation
  • Exposure to sixth-form teaching and post-16 education
  • Mentoring and CPD designed to develop classroom confidence
  • Excellent preparation for a future PGCE or teacher training route

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting lessons across KS3, KS4 and A-Level
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group academic intervention
  • Supporting pupils with examination preparation
  • Helping students develop independent study techniques
  • Providing additional challenge to high-attaining pupils
  • Supporting university and enrichment activities

The successful Oxbridge Graduate will:

  • Hold A-Levels (or equivalent) and a degree from Oxford or Cambridge
  • Have an outstanding academic record
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly and confidently
  • Have high expectations of young people
  • Be seriously considering a career in education or academic support

If you are looking for an Oxbridge Graduate role where your academic background can directly influence ambitious young people, this is an excellent Southwark opportunity from September 2026.
