Speech and Language Teaching Assistant | Dagenham | Full-time, ASAP

Are you a graduate looking to gain valuable experience as a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant? This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive school environment, helping pupils with speech, language and communication needs.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join a specialist team within an autism resource provision. You will work closely with pupils, teachers and Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), supporting children's communication and development.

The Role

  • Work as a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with autism and speech and language difficulties.
  • Deliver individual and small-group speech and language interventions under the guidance of a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Support pupils in developing their communication, language and social skills.
  • Assist teachers and therapists in implementing tailored support strategies.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A graduate with a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Linguistics, Psychology or a related subject.
  • An aspiring Speech and Language Teaching Assistant with a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs.
  • Previous experience working with children with speech and language difficulties is desirable.
  • Patient, enthusiastic and confident in building positive relationships with pupils.
