English Academic Mentor | Lewisham

Are you a high-achieving English graduate considering a career in teaching? A secondary school in Lewisham is looking for an English Academic Mentor to provide targeted academic support to pupils across KS3 and GCSE.

This role would suit a graduate with a strong academic background who can confidently support pupils with English Language and Literature, essay writing, reading comprehension and examination preparation. It is particularly suited to someone considering Teacher Training in the future.

Full Academic Year | £500–£550 per week | Secondary School

• Helping pupils prepare for GCSE examinations.
• Working alongside English teachers to identify areas for improvement.
• Tracking pupil progress and providing feedback.
• Supporting pupils to become more confident and independent learners.

The successful English Academic Mentor will:

• Have a 2:1 or above degree in English, English Literature or a related subject.
• Have strong A-Level results.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be confident supporting GCSE-level English.
• Have a genuine interest in education and working with young people.
• Be considering Teacher Training or a career in education.
• Be able to build positive relationships with pupils.
